Peninsula Day Tour

Join us on the most popular day trip Cape Town has to offer. We start our day with a scenic drive on the Atlantic Seaboard passing through some of Cape Towns trendiest suburbs with white sandy beaches and magnificent mountain backdrops. After a quick photo stop we head on to the coastal town of Hout Bay, affectionately known to the locals as the Republic of Hout Bay. A short visit to the working harbour really gives you an insight into the heart of Hout Bays’ fishing industry and makes for memorable pictures of the vessels. An optional extra is a short boat trip to nearby Duiker Island to view the massive colony of Cape Fur Seals.

After a stunning drive on Chapman’s Peak, rated one of the best drives in the country, we make our way closer to the highlight of our trip, Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and Cape Point. A drive through the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve is the ideal location for wildlife sightings and visitors have the opportunity to spot buck, baboon, cape mountain zebra and over 250 bird species. A short walk or ride on the funicular takes us to the top lighthouse of Cape Point and stunning views of 200m sheer cliff drops and what many debate is the meeting point of the two oceans’ currents. After lunch at Cape Point we visit the famous Boulders penguin colony and historical Simon’s Town followed by a drive along the False Bay coast passing through numerous seaside villages back towards Cape Town. At Africa Embraced we strive to deliver a value for money experience and (time permitting) suggest a wine tasting or walk through the world renowned Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens on our return to Cape Town.
