After pick up we head inland to the Cape’s famous winelands region. Passing through some of South Africas oldest towns with breathtaking views, a rich cultural history and some of the best wines and brandys in the world, it is definitely a tour with something for everyone! A morning visit to a working cellar will enlighten you on the process of production and advances through the years followed by our first tasting of the day. Next we will head towards the quaint town of Franschoek, passing the Drakenstein Prison where Nelson Mandela spent the last part of his lengthy prison sentence. A newly erected statue of the former president makes for a memorable photograph.
After a stop and taste at one of the beautiful Franschhoek estates we make our way to the historic town of Stellenbosch for our final tasting of the day. With hundreds of farms in the region you are truly spoilt for choice but unfortunately time is a limiting factor. The tour consists of a minimum of three wine estates but time permitting we will strive to reach as many as possible.
